Sto Corp. is expanding its offering of ventilated rainscreen cladding systems with a new product, StoVentec, designed specifically for thin brick masonry veneer facades. According to the manufacturer, this new foray into thin brick support stems from an effort to offer greater design flexibility in its products.
“This is part of our ‘Creativity Begins. Sto Finishes’ initiative,” says Larry Hilovsky, director, rainscreen, at Sto Corp. “We’re offering the widest range of aesthetic options in combination with the most complete selection of fully engineered and tested building envelope systems. Designers know they can find the look they want without compromising the performance of the building enclosure.”
The complete StoVentec system offers sub-construction, continuous insulation, and an air and moisture barrier. The product is currently in full system testing, with a particular focus on the sheer bond strength of industry standard thin brick masonry veneer with Sto’s masonry adhesive.
