In light of the National Association of Realtors proposed settlements, New Home Co.—No. 85 on the 2024 Builder 100 list—is aiming to form stronger real estate agent relationships with the New Home Co. Broker Collective. Through the Collective, the New Home Co. wants to support real estate agents who are experiencing looming uncertainty as new buyer commission rules and procedures shake out across its seven nationwide divisions.

“As a company, we’ve always valued our relationships with real estate agents in the markets where we build and sell homes,” says Matthew R. Zaist, CEO of New Home Co. “We’re proud of the fact that an overwhelming majority of our transactions involve a buyer’s agent. However, when the news about the National Association of Realtors settlement hit earlier this year, we jumped into action to define ways we could support the brokerage community even more.”

Raising the bar for new-home builder and broker partnerships, the program will offer clear, consistent, and higher commissions at varying levels in all markets plus early payouts ensuring broker partners are paid a portion of commission at the point their client signs a contract, with additional payment prior to closing.

In addition to higher commissions, the Collective will aim to provide turnkey sales and support from New Home Co's experience service team plus exclusive VIP model home previews and social branding opportunities.

The new-home inventory coming onto the market can increase savings for buyers compared with the constrained existing-home market, and New Home Co. wants to help agents connect their buyers with this inventory through collaboration and partnership. To support professional development and growth, the Collective will provide ongoing training ranging from new-home construction benefits to broker continuing education credit courses.
