NanaWall Systems has introduced its newest opening glass wall, the NanaWall, SL73, as “one of the industry’s toughest hurricane-resistant folding systems.” The SL73 meets and exceeds Miami-Dade AAMA certification requirements, with high scores on static and dynamic pressure water resistance tests and in water, wind, and debris resistance at up to 15 stories.
NanaWall attributes the SL73’s strength to its reinforced structural posts, or astragals, that run down each panel side and provide resistance against high winds and water. Its multi-point locking system incorporates top and bottom rods which securely lock with polyamide capped locking rods, designed to prevent vandalism or burglary after a disaster.
The system also incorporates specialized seals, floor support and high-performance raised floor sills, which serve to prevent water penetration and augment wind resistance.
“As homeowners are looking to rebuild after such an intense hurricane season, builders and architects are looking for glass wall systems that can withstand future storms,” says NanaWall CEO Ebrahim Nana. “Miami-Dade County certification is just the starting point for NanaWall, and the SL73 far exceeds those standards to ensure safety, security and structural performance.”
