Rebuilding Greener After Wildfires

The Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara, Calif., which began May 5, 2009, and is now 80 percent contained by firefighters, has destroyed more than 8,700 acres and 78 homes in Santa Barbara County. Already, contractors and builders in the region are discussing options for rebuilding destroyed and damaged homes greener and more fire-resistant. Several industry organizations, building contractors, and architecture firms may hold an informational forum on fire-resistant and green building for affected homeowners.
