AirRenew helps clean indoor air by capturing volatile organic compounds and converting them into inert compounds that safely remain within the board. It also protects against moisture and mold, and is designed for fire resistance.
Introduced in 2010, AirRenew continues to gain ground as builders work to address indoor air quality concerns. Indistinguishable from typical drywall, CertainTeed says AirRenew offers continued performance after up to 25 coats of paint and finishing, for up to 75 years.
“We are always on the lookout for new products that will help us provide our homeowners with more sustainable, comfortable living spaces,” says David J. Kaiserman, president of Lennar Ventures, in a recent press release announcing the use of AirRenew at Pavilion Park in Irvine, Calif., “When CertainTeed presented AirRenew Essential IAQ Gypsum Board to us, we knew we’d found one of those products."
