Boxabl is expanding to Colorado where the mass-production modular home builder is setting out to obtain its modular certification.
According to the company, 12 Boxabl Casitas are headed to Pueblo, Colorado’s new Westgate Development. Boxabl is partnering with Westgate Development, which is spearheaded by Down by the Bay, to showcase the 361-square-foot Casita starting with the initial 12 within the expected 350-plus build-to-rent community.
Boxabl plans to include both one- and two-bedroom layouts throughout. Westgate is one of many large-scale developments utilizing Boxabl’s quick ability to mass produce durable and resilient homes.
In addition to the Pueblo development, Boxabl is partnering with Bethel AME Church of Fontana to deliver affordable senior housing in California. The project, known as HOPE Homes, will establish a 27-modular Casita community at the site of the church.
The project is made possible under California’s new Affordable Housing on Faith Lands Act (SB4) legislation, which is designed to expedite the development of affordable housing on land owned by faith-based and nonprofit educational institutions.
At the start of 2025, Boxabl gained state approval under the residential building code in Nevada, where the homes are produced, and full-state approval in California to install Casitas throughout all climate zones.
