Imagination Homes Targets Attainable Entry-Level Housing in Texas

Backed by David Weekley Homes, Texas-based Imagination Homes is placing an emphasis on affordability, simplified buying, and first-time homeowners.

Imagination Homes launched its first community in the Texas housing market with a focused mission in 2025: make homeownership more attainable without sacrificing quality or experience.

Backed by a team with decades of industry experience, the subsidiary of David Weekley Homes has positioned itself squarely in the entry-level and first-time buyer segment at a time when affordability remains the top issue for many prospective home buyers.

“The typical first-time buyer in today’s market is around the mid-30s in age and looking to establish a more secure, permanent resident. A place where their future can flourish, however that may look,” says Greg Grahmann, director at Imagination Homes. “With the median home price in the U.S. sitting at around $400,000, we saw an opportunity to provide not just a more accessibly priced new construction home, but a clearer path to homeownership for this segment.”

Imagination Homes’ debut community, Rose Hill in Denison, was an illustration of this focus. With pricing starting in the high $200,000s, Imagination Homes is targeting buyers who have been priced out of new construction but still want the benefits of a newly-built home. Floor plans at the first community, which broke ground in August 2025, range from 1,400 to 2,700 square feet with three- to four-bedroom, two- to three-bathroom, and two-car garage designs.

“We believe a home is a life-changing purchase and that step not only doesn’t have to be daunting, but can also truly be celebrated,” says Grahmann.

This philosophy extends to the broader customer experience strategy for Imagination Homes. The company offers guidance on simpler financing options, closing processes, and included warranty care after the home purchase.

“We want our home buyers to feel independent without having to climb every step of the homeownership ladder on their own—something probably every homeowner can relate to,” says Grahmann.

The Texas-based builder’s goal is to help buyers feel both knowledgeable and confident in their choice to own a home while creating a personal and supportive experience from first contact to beyond closing.

“Our home buyers are more than just numbers to us—they’re real people with aspirations for their future,” Grahmann says. “That means whether they’re prepared to start the paperwork the moment they walk into a community, or are looking to find professional guidance to help answer questions before they get started, we’re here for them.”

In addition to Denison, Imagination Homes now has activity across the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston metros. More openings are planned across both regions through 2026 as the company deepens its presence in two of the largest new-home markets in the country. The builder has plans to enter the San Antonio market by 2027.
