Maryland-based Mitchell & Best and Meritage Homes' Orlando, Fla., division have taken top honors in this year’s Avid Awards, announced today.
For the past 13 years, the Avid Awards have recognized customer satisfaction in home building based on customer ratings. This year’s program had 1,445 qualifying builders from the United States and Canada, double the size of last year’s program. Homeowners who purchased new homes in 2015 were surveyed to determine the winners of the 2016 award.
This year, Mitchell & Best won the top honor, the Avid Cup Award, which recognizes the building company with the highest customer ratings from contract signing through one year of homeownership.
Meritage Homes’ Orlando division and Baker Residential’s Carolinas division earned the U.S. Avid Diamond Award given to a production and a custom builder scoring the highest on Avid’s New Home Move In Experience survey based on purchasing experience within the first 90 days in the home.
“We are excited to recognize the winners of the 2016 Avid Awards, who have all set the bar for home quality and customer service across North America,” says Paul Cardis, chief executive officer of Avid Ratings. “It is our goal to provide homeowners with the security that a builder in their region can not only meet, but exceed, home buying expectations.”
