IN A HOT HOUSING MARKET, A BUILDER must find ways to stay ahead of pack. Raleigh, N.C.–based St. rence Homes has launched a program to do just that. The company has partnered with Moline, Ill.–based lawn care manufacturer John Deere to build a “John Deere Signature Community” of upscale homes.
Buyers in this community, officially called Trenton, may choose from three John Deere landscaping packages: the Charleston, the Prairie, and the Coastal. They will also receive with every house an Outdoor Living Package that includes a riding lawn tractor, a handheld blower, trimmer, garden tools, and two years of preventative maintenance.
Landscaping and yard improvement projects are two of the top areas where new homeowners spend money during the first 18 months of homeownership, says Rich Ohmann, vice president of sales and marketing for St. Lawrence Homes. “Knowing this, our team began discussions with John Deere to create the first community of its kind to deliver value-added, turnkey landscaping solutions to customers and a truly unique place to live and grow.”
“For a potential homeowner, this partnership makes things more convenient and offers added and useful incentives when buying a home,” Tosh Brinkerhoff, customer integration manager for John Deere.
But the deal offers a major benefit to the builder as well. “Whenever we can make the home buying experience more enjoyable and fulfilling for a potential customer, we see this as a considerable advantage for our team,” he says.
Targeted at move-up buyers, the 62 homes will be located on ½- or 1-acre lots and will range from 2,500 to 3,600 square feet. They will be priced from $375,000 to $500,000.
