New home sales in the Omaha, NE market slid in January, and the percentage fall was more severe than January 2010, giving suggestion the market may be worsening. Sales dropped 65.5% from a year earlier to 41, relative to a 30.0% decline in the same month a year earlier. New home sales made up 14.9% of overall housing sales. They represented 15.1% of sales a year earlier.

Average Price of New Homes Gained in January 2011

For newly sold homes, the average price gained 46.2% in January to $301,521 per unit. This bump is an improvement over the 11.3% surge the year earlier.
