Both of Bosch’s new laser measures, the BLAZE™ Outdoor GLM400C Connected Laser Measure with Viewfinder and the BLAZE™ Outdoor GLM400CL Connected Laser Measure with Camera, are designed to deliver accurate laser level readings in virtually any lighting conditions, including bright outdoor light, wide indoor spaces, or busy backdrops.

Both the GLM400C and GLM400CL rely on an adjustable zoom camera, and function at distances of up to 400 feet. The BLAZE GLM400CL is able to take photos, and comes standard with storage for up to 200 photos and memory for up to 50 measurements.

Both devices can transfer measurement documentation via Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet in conjunction with Bosch’s MeasureOn app. (Photographs may be transferred from the GLM400CL using a supplied USB cable.)

“Not every laser measuring job is indoors under controlled light conditions,” says Brandon Eble, product manager, measuring tools, Bosch Power Tools. “A high percentage of jobs will require some outdoor measuring. Typical jobs are in direct sunlight for about 75 percent of the project due to light coming through incomplete walls without drywall or another covering. This drove us to develop the Bosch BLAZE Outdoor GLM400C and GLM400CL laser measures. Our goal was to provide a tool that could be used for a full job, no matter the lighting conditions or distance required.”

The lasers’ measurement accuracy is +/- 1/16 in., and automatically adjusts as the user moves. The GLM400C is powered by three AA batteries, while the GLM400CL is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. bosch.com
