HamatUSA has introduced its new Chelsea workstation sink, which combines the strength of natural fireclay with a classic farmhouse apron-front look and work ledges that accommodate a range of accessories.

While other fireclay workstations are limited to a straight ledge, the Chelsea's drop ledge expands the functionality of the sink. Accessories flow seamlessly between the upper and lower level, in order to be positioned where needed or conveniently slid out of the way.

The Chelsea sink measures 33 inches by 20 inches with a center drain and a deep single basin. Offered in an array of classic colors, including white, matte black, matte gray, and biscuit, the sink includes a colander for rinsing produce and pasta, a rubberwood cutting board for prep work, a multipurpose rollup mat, a bottom grid, and a strainer basket.

HamatUSA makes each fireclay sink by hand in its facility in Turkey. The proprietary blend of fireclay is carefully shaped with advanced injection molding, then brushed and sponged by hand before being allowed to cure for 48 hours. After glazing, the sinks are fired in a kiln for more than 20 hours at 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. This extreme temperature fuses the fireclay with the glaze to form a finish that is incredibly durable and resistant to chips, cracks, and scratches, according to the manufacturer.
