Ki Arts Solid Wood Soaking Tubs

Eastern Traditions
Handcrafted by a traditionally trained Japanese carpenter, solid wood soaking tubs (ofuro) provide the ideal spot for relaxation and serene contemplation after washing. Carpenter Hiroshi Sakaguchi typically uses Port Orford white cedar, which is most closely related to the traditional Japanese cedar used for ofuro, but he also can use Alaskan yellow cedar. All surfaces are hand-planed smooth. The rectangular, single-person tubs typically measure 42 inches long by 26 inches wide and have a 24-inch-deep well. Custom sizes also can be constructed. Interior benches, support rails, and lids are available. Ki Arts. 707.874.3361. www.kiarts.com
