The Merit ML14XP1 Single-Stage Heat Pump and Elite EL15XP1 Single-Stage Heat Pump are the first in a series of new high-efficiency Lennox heat pumps this year.

The ML14XP1 performs at up to 14 SEER and 9.00 HSPF, while the EL15XP1 offers up to 16 SEER and 9.00 HSPF. The EL5XP1’s precision-engineered scroll compressor lowers the unit’s noise levels and increases its durability. The ML14XP1, when installed with a compatible Lennox furnace, can form a dual-fuel system that can switch between electricity and gas automatically, depending on exterior conditions.

Both units feature Lennox’s proprietary Quantum Coil, which is composed of an aluminum alloy tube and fins that resist indoor and outdoor corrosion agents. In addition, the coil’s design makes the unit lighter than similar copper coil units, allowing dealers and installers to handle it more easily, according to the manufacturer.

“Lennox heat pumps give homeowners maximum flexibility and energy savings and our exclusive Quantum Coil design offers the best of the best in terms of superior performance and peace of mind, resulting from years of rigorous design and testing,” says John Whinery, vice president of product management at Lennox Industries.

Two more high-efficiency heat pumps, the Elite EL16XP1 and Merit ML16XP1, will be available later in 2019. lennox.com
