Cali Bamboo has launched its new Odyssey Collection, an 11-piece line of sustainable engineered hardwood flooring products that includes four European white oak floor styles, four American maples, and three American hickories.
Each product in the collection offers its own distinct style and colors. The Orion Oak and Spartan Maple present fresh, light tones, for instance, while Corinth Hickory and Ithaca Oak bring deeper, more traditional wood hues.
In line with the company’s green values, the Odyssey line, like all of Cali Hardwoods’ collections, features its Green to the Core construction. The 2mm top layer adheres to a sustainable foundation of layered birch. By utilizing a fast-growing timber for the core, planks can be larger, more dimensionally stable, and get four times as much flooring from each tree, says the company.
“With Odyssey, we’re venturing into traditional hardwoods—a corner of the flooring market not particularly known for being eco-friendly,” says Doug Jackson, Cali CEO and president. “But like Cali has always done, we’re proving that with smart sourcing and an ear to what the customer wants, you can deliver a beautiful product that doesn’t sacrifice looks or quality in the process of going green.”
The wood planks are tongue-and-groove and offered in extra-large versions, measuring up to 82 11/16 inches long and 5 ½ inches wide. A UV oil finish, safe for the home, is applied after installation to provide surface protection and highlights the wood’s natural knots and streaks. calibamboo.com
