Viewrail is adding wire-brushed wood stair treads to its collection of tread options for the FLIGHT, STRATUS, and TERRACE floating stair systems.
According to Viewrail, the wire-brushing process removes the tread’s soft grain and leaves the heartwood exposed, producing a weathered or aged look on the stair tread, as well as a more tactile feel. The heartwood offers strong resistance to wear and tear and is recommended for use in homes with young children or pets or in commercial areas with a lot of traffic. The natural texture offers more slip resistance than smoother treads, and works well with rustic and modern design styles alike, the manufacturer says.
The wire-brushed treads are available in a choice of 15 wood species, 39 finishes, and six widths from 36 to 72 inches in side with left, right, or double returns. Wire brushing is available at no additional cost, and wire-brushed treads are also available for stand-alone purchase. viewrail.com
