Straw Bale SIPs

Ontario, Canada-based NatureBuilt Wall Systems produces structural panels–BioSIPs–that are insulated with straw instead of polyurethane foam. Surfaced with an inch of cement/lime plaster, they offer many of the advantages of strawbale construction–high insulation value, thermal mass, renewable material, small carbon footprint–in a more standardized product and process. Seems like a great idea to me. –B.D.S.
