Synthetic slate and shake roofing tile manufacturer DaVinci Roofscapes has launched a program to recycle jobsite waste from the use of its products—including scraps, cuttings, and used and unused tiles. According to the company, its resin-based synthetic roofing tiles are 100 percent recyclable. Scraps, cuttings, and even unused and used whole product can be repurposed into new starter tiles, it says. DaVinci will pay the shipping costs for contractors of projects located within 500 miles of the company’s Kansas City, Kan., manufacturing facility to send unused DaVinci Slate, Shake, or Fancy Shake products and waste back to the company for recycling.
DaVinci will also recycle waste and unused products from roofing projects outside the 500-mile radius, but contractors will have to ship those materials at their own expense. “With our recycling program, we’ll pay the shipping fees from projects as far away as Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Nashville, Tenn. and Indianapolis,” said Ray Rosewall, DaVinci’s president and CEO, in a statement.
Contractors should contact the company at 800.328.4624 to make arrangements. DaVinci will then mail a pre-paid shipping label based on the packaged product weight.
