Nostalgic Warehouse has revisited a turn-of-the-20th-century door hardware trend with the addition of white milk glass to its line of Waldorf knobs.
The translucent glass, first created in 16th century Venice, was very popular in the early 20th century in hardware, dishware, vases, and lighting fixtures. Nostalgic Hardware has applied this glass to the octagonal shape of the Waldorf knobs to create a look that can match a wide variety of décor styles, vintage or otherwise.
“Milk glass continues to be popular among collectors and is prized for having a vintage look and a modern aesthethic,” says Emma Kane, Marketing Director for Nostalgic Warehouse. “These knobs are truly beautiful with an almost luminous quality that is quite unique. Depending on backplate and finish choices, it's possible to design looks that range from elegant and traditional to chic and contemporary.”
The Waldorf White Milk Glass Knobs measure 2 1/4” in diameter, and are mounted on a solid forged brass plate. The plate is in twelve different styles, including Craftsman, Victorian, Art Deco, and Rosette, and in eight finishes: Antique Brass, Antique Pewter, Bright Chrome, Oil-Rubbed Bronze, Polished Brass, Satin Nickel, Timeless Bronze and Unlacquered Brass. nostalgicwarehouse.com
