The newest component in CertainTeed Ceilings’s CertainTeed QuickSpan Locking Drywall Grid System is the QuickSpan Support Clip, a suspension system accessory that allows ceiling contractors to install ceilings with longer, unsupported spans.
According to CertainTeed, the vast majority of ceiling grid systems require hanger wires every three to four feet for structural stability. The QuickSpan clip’s load-bearing support allows for hanger wire spacing of up to 78 inches – or seven and a half feet – for spans of up to 16 feet. This can reduce the use of hanger wires by up to 50%.
“With QuickSpan Support Clip, contractors can now plan longer spacing for drywall ceilings in hallways and corridor applications,” says Tom Murray, product manager of suspension systems at CertainTeed Ceilings. “The accessory provides a huge savings in time and labor costs.”
With these longer ceiling spans, the QuickSpan Support Clip also allows for wider spanning tee spacing at 24 inches on center. Its embossed grooves allow for easy placement, and its hammered edge has no sharp points. certainteed.com
