Cambria launched a new, 6-millimeter quartz slab surface thickness—the equivalent of three stacked nickels—as a complement to its existing 1-centimeter, 2-centimeter, and 3-centimeter formats. The extra-thin quartz is designed to meet the need for thin countertops, and may be used as cladding options for walls, ceilings, fireplaces, backsplashes, or shower and tub surrounds. At launch, the 6-millimeter slab was available in a choice of 10 existing Cambria designs as well as two finishes. Dutch Quality Stone—crafted by Amish artisans—has added a pair of reclaimed wood-inspired products to its catalog of traditionally crafted stone veneers: Weathered Plank 4 and Weather Plank 6. The Weathered Plank series is available in two color palettes, Winesburg and Industrial Gray, and both products incorporate molded grooves, knots, and nail holes within the wood grain. In response to customer requests for more medicine cabinet storage, Strasser has unveiled two new medicine cabinet collections—made from solid wood or aluminum with LED lights—designed to coordinate with the manufacturer’s existing luxury bath vanities.
The solid wood cabinets are available in a choice of four sizes—20, 24, 30, and 36 inches—each with its own configuration of open glass shelving. The aluminum cabinet series is available in 24- or 36-inch sizes, and also features mirrors on both sides of the door, as well as the inside of the cabinet unit. As of launch, the Low-Profile Collection includes a number of 24-inch undercounter units, including a refrigerator, a beverage center, a wine cabinet, and refrigerator doors. Each one is UL-rated for indoor and outdoor use. CertainTeed is expanding its GlasRoc portfolio of wall and ceiling materials with two new gypsum tile backer panel varieties: GlasRoc Tile Backer and Glas Rock Tile Backer Type X.
The panels include a moisture-resistant core with engineered fiberglass facers, designed for use behind tiles in interior rooms often subjected to moisture or high humidity, including tub and shower surrounds, bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, and bathrooms.
