Woodside Homes Southern California and Wingsweep Corporation on Thursday will break ground on Sommers Bend in Temecula, a new master-planned community that will complete what was previously referred to as Phase Two of Roripaugh Ranch.

With nearly 1,500 new residences to be offered, the community has become one of the most significant master plans in the Inland Empire (Western Riverside County) area of Southern California, with a tentative grand opening planned for summer 2020.

"This is an exciting time for Temecula," said Woodside Homes Southern California Division President Chris Chambers. "Sommers Bend will be a community that invites all of Temecula and the region to be part of it—businesses, artisans, residents and neighbors. In addition to the prestigious school system and excellent city and community services, residents will enjoy beautiful natural preserves and the growing Wine Country region. It will be the culmination of everything that makes Temecula great."

In addition, the community will also offer two recreational facilities, one for all residents and one exclusively for residents of the 55+ neighborhoods. Each will feature an indoor/outdoor clubhouse, pool areas and community gardens.

When complete, the community of Sommers Bend will include a total of 1,500 for-sale homes, including 250 age-targeted homes for 55+ homeowners, as well as a 21.3-acre sports park, a new elementary school, 181 acres of preserved open space and a carefully crafted trail system that connects to nearby trails and amenities.
