Maracay Homes, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based member of the TRI Pointe Group, is in the process of building its newest LEED Certified neighborhoods in the Phoenix metro area: The Preserve at Adora Trails in Gilbert and Hawthorn Manor in Chandler, which are both scheduled to open in early 2017.

Maracay is currently the only large-production home builder in metro Phoenix that builds to achieve LEED certification, the firm says. All of the Preserve at Adora Trails and Hawthorn Manor homes are designed to use 30% to 60% less energy than typical homes, and also to meet the EPA’s Indoor airPLUS standards. Water-efficient features, LED lighting, energy-efficient heating and cooling, ENERGY STAR appliances and programmable thermostats are included in all homes, among many more energy-saving features.

The Preserve at Adora Trails, located inside the Adora Trails master-planned community, will feature 82 single-story homes from a choice of five floor plans, ranging from 2,494 to 3,342 square feet in size. The neighborhood’s extra-large home sites offer an average of 10,000 square feet of ground space. Residents of Adora Trails will also gain access to the community’s clubhouse, catch-and-release lake, pool, sports facilities and walking trails, as well as nearby routes to Tempe and Phoenix.

Hawthorn Manor will also feature single-story homes on 84 oversized home sites, with a choice between four floor plans ranging in size from 3,030 to 3,839 square feet.

“Our commitment to building green homes began more than a decade ago, and since then we’ve increased our efforts, refined our building practices and expanded our use of green technology each year,” says Maracay Homes president Andy Warren. “Consumers, as a whole, are increasingly looking for ways to minimize their impact on the environment, which includes choosing a home that’s energy efficient and built with the environment in mind. Our intent is to answer this desire by continuing to offer new choices for a greener future.”
