For 55-plus home buyers gearing up for their “NEXTadventure,” it’s important to figure out where to live and what a home should offer at this stage of life.

In developing the Esplanade Community and the NEXTadventure home, Taylor Morrison conducted extensive research on the wants and needs of 55-plus buyers—the development’s target demographic.

What the company found was similar to the results from NAHB’s recent report titled “Housing Preferences of the Boomer Generation: How They Compare to Other Home Buyers.” Here, NAHB notes that the top community features desired by boomer buyers are a suburban location near retail space, a park area, walking and jogging trails, and a lake.

Following that, those surveyed rated outdoor maintenance service, a swimming pool, and an exercise room as the next most desirable features. All of these lifestyle preferences have been incorporated into the Esplanade community at Highland Ranch.

Watch as Graham Hughes, chief customer officer at Taylor Morrison, speaks to what is important about a community’s amenity center.

As Hughes explains in the video, Taylor Morrison has listened to its home buyers about what it takes to create a good experience. The Esplanade community center offers residents an exclusive feel, and it can be customized to the wants and needs of each homeowner.

There also is a concierge who schedules events that bring the community together. Events at Esplanade include card games, pickle ball matches, wine tastings, book clubs, and field trips.
