The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is known as the place for new technology, cutting-edge innovation and new product launches that represent the latest and greatest in every aspect of technology. Attendees are enthralled by gadgets and gizmos and new devices – from home robots to wearables.

And, this year, for the first time ever, a full-scale home is part of that innovation.

Smart homes are no longer a thing of the future. The smart home market is estimated at $23 million today and projected to rise to $44 million by 2023, according to Statista. Smart home technology is expected to be one of the hottest topics at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show in January, with a range of exhibitors demonstrating new devices and technologies.

The BUILDER KB Home ProjeKt, “Where Tomorrow Lives,” is more than a concept home, it’s an “experience” of the ease, convenience, and value these technologies offer homeowners. Rather than demonstrating individual technologies in a booth on the CES floor, ProjeKt brings a suite of integrated, intuitive tools together into one real-world activation that showcases how advanced technologies and systems can work together. The home features the latest smart home products from industry innovators such as Whirlpool, Carrier, Kohler, Kwikset, Schneider Electric and Google.

Located in the Inspirada master-planned community, not far from CES, ProjeKt features many of the latest innovations on display at the Show, all managed by Google’s intuitive ecosystem. The smart home’s technological advances operate seamlessly to create a relaxing and more productive life without intruding on its residents.

The technologies ProjeKt will demonstrate include sophisticated health and wellness capabilities. The Delos DARWIN Home Wellness Intelligence platform, for example, monitors and remediates air and water quality and works with smart lighting and window shade systems to support the resident’s circadian rhythms and improve both physical and mental health. In addition, the kitchen is designed to support a healthier lifestyle, with a wall garden and the latest smart appliances from Whirlpool to simplify and personalize food preparation. Kohler is showcasing an integrated platform for the bathroom that transforms it into a luxury spa experience for greater relaxation at home.

KB Home will be utilizing the ProjeKt home as an innovations laboratory to lead the way in bringing smart home technologies to its core first-time, move-up and empty nest homebuyers. As CES is set to demonstrate next week, the smart home and its technology-driven convenience, capability, and comfort will define “Where Tomorrow Lives.”
