The 2022 Local Leaders list reveals Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas, ranked as the No. 1 metro yet again with 44,606 new-home closings in 2021. It trumped the No. 2 market, its sister metro Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, Texas, by over 8,000 closings.
Bloomfield Homes—the No. 1 private builder and the No. 3 builder overall in the DFW region—contributed 2,135 closings, or 4.8% of the market share. The Southlake, Texas–based company began building in the area in 2004 and has now built over 11,000 homes in the metroplex since its inception.
In Justin, Texas, a town on the northwest side of Dallas, Bloomfield is developing an outdoor-oriented community called Timberbrook. Featuring miles of walking trails, tree-lined parks, green spaces, a playground, and a pool, the community is attracting buyers from many profiles, from first-time to move-up to move-down, who are looking for a more rural feel. Nearby Interstate 35W also makes it convenient to travel to Denton, Lewisville, Southlake, Dallas, or Fort Worth.
“People come here to find community,” says Michael Herzog, Timberbrook community manager. “It is that small-town culture that has permeated this master plan. It’s very inviting, and it just builds on itself.”
Herzog reports phase one was a little over 200 lots, and phase two was somewhere in that same vicinity; currently, the community is in phase 3A, with phase 3B and four to come. The community opened models in 2019, and the Magnolia floor plan in the builder’s Classic Series remains a popular selection.
The two-story floor plan with five bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms features a covered porch, formal dining, a large family room, an optional study, an open kitchen with custom cabinets and an island, an owner’s suite with a walk-in closet and a garden tub, and a game room.
Buyers can select from six elevations that offer brick or stone accents paired with tall gables and arched openings. They can also choose to upgrade the two-car garage to a three-car—a popular pick, according to Herzog—and extend the backyard covered patio for more outdoor living space.
“I’m really proud of what we have brought to life here,” Herzog reflects. “It’s become a real hit in the Northwest and on the map, if you will, for people who still want to get into the city within 15 to 20 minutes but also want that rural feeling.”
