The Fischer Group has set its sights on a new corporate headquarters in Covington, Kentucky.

Currently based in Erlanger, Kentucky, the relocation would involve moving The Fischer Group’s portfolio of companies—including Fischer Homes, Grand Communities, Victory Mortgage, Homestead Title Agency, and Acendion Collective—to the new location. If finalized, the move would bring more than 350 associates to the city of Covington.

“Our exploration of this location was driven by our desire to place our corporate headquarters within a dynamic and enriching environment,” Tim McMahon, CEO of The Fischer Group, tells BUILDER. “The city of Covington offers a vibrant community with abundant amenities, particularly an outstanding dining and entertainment scene. It is also central to where our associates live and to our communities in the greater Cincinnati area.”

McMahon says the company has been exploring options for corporate relocation for about a year and the relocation plan includes bringing all Erlanger-based associates to the new Covington location.

“We believe Covington offers a uniquely business-friendly environment and a fantastic community for our associates to live, work, and thrive,” says Greg Fischer, chairman of The Fischer Group. “Our intent is to become an active and engaged corporate citizen, contributing positively to the city’s ongoing success.”

Preliminary plans involve expanding the historic First District building in Covington from its current 65,000 square feet to approximately 95,000 square feet. The development, estimated to cost around $11 million, would feature modern workplace amenities and community-focused enhancements, according to The Fischer Group.

“This strategically chosen location will offer tremendous opportunities for innovation, talent acquisition, and infrastructure that will position us for continued success in the years ahead,” McMahon tells BUILDER. “It will provide the space and resources needed to support our growth plans and enhance the experience for our associates and customers.”

The Fischer Group is working closely with the city of Covington, Kenton County, and the van Rooyen Group as developer and landlord as part of the relocation effort. The stakeholders note there are several important milestones that remain in order to finalize the relocation opportunity.

Fischer Homes, the home building arm of The Fischer Group, is the No. 31 company on the 2025 Builder 100 list. The builder closed 3,019 homes in 2024 and has new home communities in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, and Florida. Acendion is The Fischer Group’s development and investment company focused on creating multifamily and mixed-use communities. Launched in 2024, Acendion has three communities with more than 1,000 apartments in development in the greater Cincinnati metro market.
