HistoryMaker Homes—No. 57 on the 2023 Builder 100—has expanded into San Antonio after completing more than 1,250 homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston markets last year.

With over 70 years of experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston markets, the expansion comes with new homes planned for Morgan Meadows and the appointment of Manny Alarcon as San Antonio division president and Jason Elliott as director of construction.

“Our long history of success in the greater Houston and DFW markets and our understanding of evolving markets like San Antonio revealed to us that now is an ideal time to capture one of the state’s best opportunities to meet home buyers’ needs,” says Nelson Mitchell, CEO of HistoryMaker Homes.

San Antonio was recently listed as a top market to watch in 2023 by the National Association of Realtors’ national outlook report. HistoryMaker plans to build high-quality new homes to meet the area’s strong demand. The home builder will begin construction in the Morgan Meadows community this summer and will offer 1,500- to 2,700-square-foot homes.

As division president for HistoryMaker in San Antonio, Alarcon will leverage his 17 years of home building expertise in both San Antonio and Austin. Most recently, Alarcon served as senior vice president of land acquisition for KB Home in San Antonio.

Mitchell adds, “Manny’s experience in land acquisition and entitlement, combined with his relationships in the area, has already allowed HistoryMaker to gain traction quickly throughout the market and guide us into the future."

“I’m excited to join HistoryMaker Homes, a home builder with a legacy of excellence in Texas, and lead the expansion into the San Antonio market,” Alarcon says. “San Antonio’s strong economy, good job growth, and demand for affordable housing are a perfect match for HistoryMaker’s focus on attainable housing solutions for everyone.”

Elliott, who joins Alarcon in the launch of HistoryMaker’s expansion, will serve as director of construction for the new operation. His experience spans more than two decades serving in roles from superintendent to project management and construction leadership.

Currently, across the San Antonio area, HistoryMaker has 239 lots under contract and is actively in due diligence for several other opportunities. The home builder is aiming to secure a presence in seven communities by the end of year.
