There's a lot happening in the world right now: the COVID-19 pandemic, children returning to school in some fashion, the upcoming election, just to name a few. It's also a period of transition for us here at BUILDER as editorial director John McManus recently left the company and is forging ahead on a new path.

If you've ever read one of John's posts, you know that John and the internet, with its infinite word count, were fast friends. His voice—lifting builders up, holding builders accountable, and making builders think—in this space will be missed, and we wish him the best for all of the opportunities that come next. For those of us who have been lucky enough to overlap John's 15-plus-year career at Hanley Wood, we are eternally grateful for his unfaltering guidance, insight, compassion, and leadership.

Thanks to that leadership, the staff members at BUILDER and our sister brands are prepared to flourish, and there are bright spots ahead. We're gearing up to share the winning projects from our annual design awards program in the September issue of BUILDER, in addition to fine-tuning the agenda for our Builder 100 event in November (updates can be found at builder100.com). In a time when home—and your efforts to provide those homes—has never meant more, we ask you to share with us your stories, your projects, your successes, your struggles. We need to hear about it all, from you, to continue to best serve you through our industry coverage.

In a recent LinkedIn post about what's next, John notes "the work must go on." The best way for us to celebrate John's passion and vision for the home building industry is to keep it alive and continue to build it ourselves. I look forward to having you join us.
