Beverly Garine
Caletti Construction, Mill Valley, Calif.

As a service to clients, Caletti Construction provides remote viewing access to their active jobsites so clients can view still photos taken daily and, by entering a password, view streaming video of their home's progress. But Beverly Garine, Caletti's marketing manager, also uses the remotely captured photos for marketing purposes.

At the start of each project, Garine has Caletti's cable provider set up video cameras from Axis Media Control that act like computers and can be connected to a local area network, or LAN. The company offers several different network cameras that have built-in Web servers to capture and send live video directly over a defined network. Axis' network cameras don't need a direct connection to a PC or any other hardware to capture and transfer the images, according to the manufacturer, but only require a wired or wireless connection to an IP network.

Axis Media Control “We have been doing this for every single job,” Garine says. “All you need for it is a wireless network card and the camera somewhere on the jobsite.” Axis Media Control. 800.444.2947. www.axis.com.
