The holiday season also means chaos at most companies, as everyone ties up loose ends, and finalizes plans for the next year before going home to enjoy time with loved ones.
Taylor Morrison's divisions found a fun way to break away for a moment, release the tension, and spread some cheer. The national home builder's People Services team shot a little dance video, challenging other divisions in the company to pick up their cameras and start busting a move. Week after week, a new challenge was broadcast to the company.
“I’ve always been a big believer that if you love what you do it will never feel like work," says Sheryl Palmer, CEO of Taylor Morrison. "When people love what they do, amazing things like our Dance Challenge just organically happen."
With different teams spread out across the country, it can be hard to make everyone feel like they're connected. The video dance challenge pulled the company's employees together and gave them all something to laugh about and have fun on the job.
"We understand the importance of enjoying each other and laughing at ourselves from time-to-time. Work doesn’t feel like work when you’re having fun and when your coworkers are more than colleagues—they’re family.”
