Residential Architects Share Predictions for 2010

How did architects fare during the downturn? Get the "word on the street."

In the aftermath of the economic crash that came to a head in 2008, CUSTOM HOME’s sister magazine Residential Architect surveyed 10 residential design firms about how they were coping with dwindling projects and budgets for its January/February 2009 cover story “Word On the Street.” Girding for the worst, most of these struggling firms painfully pared staff and slashed expenses.

At the start of the new year, RA checked in to see how those architects fared in 2009 and how they see 2010 shaping up. Read about their experiences and predictions for 2010 in “Word On the Street, Redux.”
