Milwaukee Tool is releasing a new and upgraded edition of its M18 FUEL SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw, available with or without the manufacturer’s One-Key smart custom control capacity.

The new SAWZALL features the latest edition of Milwaukee Tool’s POWERSTATE brushless motor, which operates at 3,000 SPM and provides a 1-1/4-inch stroke length for faster material removal, including cuts in wood with nails, black pipe, and conduit. The REDLINK PLUS Intelligence feature, custom made for the new SAWZALL, maximizes the tool’s performance in strenuous situations and provides overloading protection.

The saw’s slide crank mechanism features improved dust and water ingress, as well as greater overall durability. Additional wear and corrosion improvements include an anti-corrosion blade clamp, greater wear resistance on the blade change lever, and a metal reinforced battery connection for improved battery retention over the life of the tool.

“It’s been nearly 70 years since Milwaukee first invented the reciprocating saw, and since that time the SAWZALL continues to lead the industry in durability and performance. The first generation of the M18 FUEL SAWZALL changed the game for pros because it allowed them to cut the cord for the very first time. This year we are continuing to push the boundaries of cordless technology with the second generation of the M18 FUEL SAWZALL. Plus, not only is it lighter than the previous generation, it’s also the most durable SAWZALL reciprocating saw to date,” says Tyson Apfelbeck, director of product marketing for Milwaukee Tool.

The One-Key connectivity edition allows users to calibrate the tool’s performance for specific situations, including speed adjustments or a “cut brake,” which stops the blade from reciprocating after a cut is completed. Users can custom set up to three modes, or profiles, and track and manage the tool through the One-Key app.

The standard M18 FUEL SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw kit retails for $419, or $199 for a bare tool, and the M18 FUEL SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw with One-Key kit retails for $469, or $259 for a bare tool. Both kits include two rechargeable battery packs, a charger, a general purpose blade, and a contractor bag. milwaukeetool.com
