Modern Mill has expanded its ACRE line with the addition of two new siding profiles.

Based in Fernwood, Mississippi, its products are made from upcycled rice hulls and are available in siding, trim, decking, and millwork.

"When sustainable alternatives like Modern Mill capture the aesthetics and performance of wood, it raises the question, why continue harvesting trees for applications like siding, trim, and decking?" says Kim Guimond, chief marketing officer at Modern Mill.

According to the manufacturer, ACRE offers the warmth and beauty of real wood with all the conveniences of composites.

The new Nickel Gap and V-Groove siding profiles are designed to meet the needs of builders, architects, and homeowners seeking sustainable and high-performance materials.

The new Nickel Gap product is designed with a rabbeted joint for a seamless fit, ensuring precise, consistent spacing of about 1/8 of an inch, roughly the thickness of a nickel. As a result, the siding delivers clean, consistent spacing for a unique texture and appearance.

For the V-Groove siding, the product has overlapping joints that create V-grooves between boards, providing a secure fit and protection against water, weather, and pests.
