The YORK branch of Johnson Controls has launched a new smart HVAC zoning control platform—the Hx3 Communicating Zoning System—to allow users to adjust temperature and humidity in up to eight individual rooms. The Communicating Zoning System is compatible with YORK Affinity variable capacity or two-stage indoor and outdoor communicating equipment, as well as other indoor air quality products.
Homeowners can control the system through the recently reengineered Hx app or the separate Wi-Fi-enabled Hx3 main controller. Both tools allow users to customize schedules for up to eight zones, with additional options for humidity control, geofencing, and away mode and vacation mode, which can be set for individual rooms or the whole home. External thermostats or sensors can sync with the app to control additional areas, with custom options that accommodate the customer’s needs and budget.
The zoning equipment does not require bypass or barometric dampeners, and is compatible with any existing three-wire, 24V power open/close dampener. With homeowner permission, contractors can also use the Hx app to remotely access and monitor the system through a user-friendly contractor interface.
“More than ever, today’s connected consumers expect a complete system that provides efficient performance, worry-free reliability, and customizable functionality that fits their family’s lifestyle,” said Jason Wilson, product manager, Johnson Controls. “That’s exactly what the best-in-class technology of the Hx3 Communicating Zoning System delivers, making it the ideal solution for the new generation of smart homes.” york.com
