
Dallas-based Brightland Homes is consolidating under the DRB Group brand name, effective April 1. Both companies are subsidiaries of Sumitomo Forestry America.
“Sumitomo Forestry’s decision to consolidate Brightland Homes into DRB Group is not one we take lightly, and we are honored by the confidence they have placed in us,” says DRB Group CEO Ronny Salameh. “This merger will make way for tremendous opportunities for our combined teams now and our combined company in the future. It reinforces the strength of our relationship with Sumitomo Forestry America, and we build upon this foundation to drive sustained growth in the years ahead.”
The strategic move to reorganize Brightland Homes under DRB Group will reshape DRB’s east coast footprint into one of national scale, expanding the builder’s reach into Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee. The consolidation will also add Jacksonville to DRB Group’s existing Florida operations.
Following the consolidation, DRB Group’s footprint will consist of 19 divisional operations across 14 states, 1,500 employees, and nearly 9,000 expected closings in 2025.

DRB Group ranked 24th on the 2024 Builder 100 list, closing 4,140 homes in 2023. The builder has operations across 10 states on the east coast and also closed on the acquisition of Tampa-based Biscayne Homes in March of 2024. Brightland Homes ranked 30th on the 2024 Builder 100 with 2,972 closings in 2023.
