BUILDER's premier list of the top 100 builders in the country, the BUILDER 100, is set to be released next week. In light of that, we are counting down each day with some facts and figures gleaned from the data.

As we reported yesterday, it was more difficult to move onto the Builder 100 list in 2013 than the year before. The threshold to entry was 406 closed units compared to 319 in 2012, a 27 percent increase. Eight companies that were not on the Top 100 list in 2012 were able to jump that hurdle to land a coveted spot for 2013. They are:

AV Homes, Scottsdale, Ariz.
American West Development, Las Vegas
Dunhill Homes, Dallas
Eastwood Homes, Charlotte, N.C.
The New Home Company, Aliso Viejo, Calif.
The Providence Group of Georgia, Suwanee, Ga.
Robson Communities, Sun Lakes, Ariz.
Tri Pointe, Irvine, Calif.
