Pacific Lifestyle Homes, builder of more than 3,000 homes in the Portland Metropolitan area during the past twenty years announced Thursday the opening of a Puget Sound Division in the Seattle Metropolitan area.
"We are thrilled to make this commitment to opening the Seattle area division. We have been discussing it strategically for some time and feel that the type of communities that we have built as well as the design of homes are a perfect fit for the market," said Matt Lewis, president of Pacific Lifestyle Homes and Garrette Custom Homes Puget Sound.
Pacific Lifestyle Homes sister company, Garrette Custom Homes, launched in the Puget Sound in 2014. Garrette Custom Homes proved to be a strong foray into the market. The Garrette brand focuses on acreage, larger home sites, and on-your-lot builds. The demand seen through the Garrette brand fueled discussion and demand for a greater presence there.
"We saw the demand for the lifestyle living that Pacific Lifestyle Homes brings to their communities. Summer Lane in University Place was the obvious community to launch the Pacific Lifestyle Homes brand in the Puget Sound region. With 40 homesites, tree lined streets, walking trails, abutting greenspace and a neighborhood park – it embodies the "lifestyle" in Pacific Lifestyle Homes," said Lewis.
In 1996, current CEO and president Kevin Wann founded Pacific Lifestyle Homes. Wann built his first home in Vancouver. That first year, the company finished with 18 homes closed, acquired 72 lots for development, and opened two communities. The first community was located near Vancouver Mall.
Fast forward 22 years and Wann is still going. "Like any business, you learn a lot over the years," said Wann. "I am proud that we have continued to evolve. Homes are a lot like styles, they change over time and you really have to continue to be nimble and ready to change."
Wann attributes the success to the people behind it. "All great companies are built with great people," said Wann. "We certainty have been blessed with an outstanding team over the past twenty years. I am proud of the organization that we have assembled and really proud of the homes that we are building today."
