Murfreesboro is one of the fastest growing cities in Tennessee and with its central location in the state, residents can easily access I-24, I-65, I-40 and SR 840. Because of its proximity to Nashville, Murfreesboro has become one of the fastest growing residential and retail areas in the state. And in downtown, The Avenue, an open-air shopping center, features more than 100 stores.

This part of middle Tennessee offers abundant outdoor recreation. The city is close to historic Stones River Battlefield (U.S. National Park), site of one of the major conflicts of the Civil War. The area is home to several natural and man-made lakes, wetlands and scenic trails along cedar woods, hardwood forests and grassy glades. Plus, the West Fork of the Stones River flows through Murfreesboro offering hiking and bicycling trails, fishing and small boat paddling.
