D.R. Horton, Ft. Worth (NYSE:DHI) said late Thursday it plans to open its first Freedom Homes active-adult community in northern Alabama, Segars Trail, in Madison, this fall.
The growing city of Madison is nestled in the Huntsville Metropolitan Area near the Northern border of Alabama. Ranked as one of the safest cities in Alabama by the National Council for Home Safety and Security in 2017, Madison offers big-city amenities with a safe, small-town feel.
Current plans for Segars Trail feature expansive walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment and ADA-compliant handicap access throughout the homes.
Home buyers will be able to choose between single- and two-story floor plans – both energy efficient – to best suit their lifestyle. With active living convenience and safety features included, the Freedom Homes are designed to deliver low-maintenance living on a budget.
