Johnson Development Services—the smaller-scale community affiliate of Houston-area developer Johnson Development Corp.—has released the first 96 homesites at the Candela community in Richmond, Texas, to builders Coventry Homes, Perry Homes, and Westin Homes.
The homesites range from 40 to 60 feet in size, and prices for homes in the community’s first phase are expected to range from the mid-$200,000s to the $500,000s. Pre-sales are set to begin this month, and a grand opening is tentatively planned for next spring. Each builder is set to offer three model homes, for a total of nine, and approximately 60 to 70 inventory homes total.
“These are outstanding builders who are expected to bring a wide variety of home designs to Candela,” says Michael Cox, president of Johnson Development Services. “The builders—coupled with an excellent location near the Westpark Tollway and a generous amenity package—should be very appealing to buyers.”
The full community plan is set to include more than 1,500 homes across 460 acres at full buildout. Work is underway on the community’s Axis Amenity Center, which will include meeting space, a courtyard and fire pit, a fitness center, a yoga lawn, a resort pool, and a splash pad. A playground, a pavilion, and a dog park will also be available for resident use. “Our aim is to have amenities in place in time for our first residents to enjoy them right after they move in or soon after,” says Cox.
