In coming months, one of the country's largest residential builders will open new communities in four states. Epcon Communities, the 40th largest builder in the U.S., is looking to expand on its success catering to active adults seeking resort-style living.
The Dublin, Ohio-based company and its franchise builders across the country are known for developing communities of ranch-style, maintenance-free homes popular with 55+ buyers. The company plans to open the following projects in the next few months:
Scenic Ridge
Located in historic Harmony, Pa., the new community is being built by Weaver Homes, an Epcon franchisee. Nestled in a private reserve, the homes are encircled by mature trees and fields. Developed for home buyers looking for a luxury home within an active community, Scenic Ridge is close to shopping, dining, and entertainment, says the firm. Priced from $249,900, it will encompass eight home style options.
Courtyards at Price Farms
This maintenance-free community is located in Concord Township, Ohio, the state's fastest-growing county. Residents enjoy the benefits of country living while still being close to the conveniences of Columbus, says the company. Developed for buyers looking for a “lock and leave” lifestyle, the Courtyards at Price Farms will feature 65 ranch-style homes within a maintenance-free community.
The Preserve at Legacy Lakes
This outdoor-focused development is under way in the the heart of the Jack Nicklaus-designed Legacy Lake Golf Links in Aberdeen, N.C. Located in the North Carolina Sandhills region, one of the top golf destinations in the world, The Preserve at Legacy Lakes has six single-story models to choose from. The maintenance-free community is near both Aberdeen and Southern Pines, which offers small-town charm and first-class shopping, fine dining, a vibrant arts community, as well as world-class healthcare facilities.
“As a new home builder, choosing Legacy Lakes as the site for The Preserve was an easy decision” says Pat McKee, and Epcon Franchise Builder, and President of McKee Homes. “This location has so much to offer – not just world-class golf but gorgeous natural surroundings with easy access to a remarkable variety of activities and resources.”
Courtyards at Savannah Quarters
Construction has begun on the Courtyards at Savannah Quarters, a gated golf community in Pooler, Ga., just minutes from Savannah. After completing the sold-out Fairways community at Savannah Quarters, the demand for Epcon’s single-story courtyard homes made developing a second community only natural, says Frank Curran, the project's franchise builder. The homes will feature lagoon or golf course views.
