Lennox Industries has announced that its PureAir and PureAir S Air Purification systems, when used in conjunction with the Lennox Healthy Climate Carbon Clean 16 air filter, have been tested and found to remove over 99% of the SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, from the air.
The testing was performed by LMS Technologies, an independent filtration testing and research lab that Lennox has worked with for over two decades. SARS-CoV-2 removal efficacy is based on testing results using the MS-2 bacteriophage, which is representative of virus-sized particles like the virus that causes COVID-19.

Overall, the filter is tested to remove over 99% of virus particles under the correct circumstances, including the common cold, influenza, and viruses four times smaller than SARS-CoV-2. It is also 99.9% efficient at removing larger particles, including mold spores, dander, dust, and pollen. The PureAir and PureAir S produce no ozone during operation, and actively work to reduce other sources of ozone in the home, according to the manufacturer.
