The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department Of Energy are honoring 163 ENERGY STAR partners across 35 U.S. states as Partners of the Year. Honorees include companies, schools, hospitals, retailers, home builders, and commercial building owners and operators who have been recognized by the program for their contributions and achievements.

The awards will be presented to honorees in Washington, D.C. at the Washington Hilton Hotel on April 20th. Bill Wehrum, EPA assistant administrator for air and radiation, and Patti Poppe, CEO of CMS Energy, will deliver keynote presentations at the event.

“The 2018 ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year have demonstrated real leadership, showing how American families and businesses can save energy, save money, and reduce air emissions,” Wehrum said in a statement.

In 2016 alone, ENERGY STAR-certified products, homes, buildings, and plants have helped Americans save approximately 400 billion kilowatt hours of electricity and $30 billion in energy costs. The voluntary program has saved over $450 billion in energy costs and 3.5 trillion kilowatt hours since its founding in 1992, and achieved broad emissions reductions in the process.
