This new plan came as a surprise. After all, it's unusual to see a tiny home plan or accessory dwelling unit that's also a duplex design. It's an interesting twist on budget-friendly design and, if added to a larger property, could provide an elegant solution to housing a recent college grad and a grandparent (with each getting their privacy and independence).
At first one barely registers that it's a multifamily design. The gabled roof line feels harmonious, while each unit gets a simple entryway that's jazzed up with a roof overhang and sidelights.
Then you look closer at the floor plan. The mirrored units each showcase a very open layout with 395 square feet of living space. Thoughtful amenities include a walk-in closet and French doors that create indoor/outdoor flow between the bedroom and the backyard. Another nice detail: The full bathroom can be accessed from both the bedroom and the kitchen, making it easy to entertain guests.
