A guest apartment connected to the garage makes a terrific, easy-to-access (no stairs, unlike most in-law units) place for relatives or guests to enjoy a little extra privacy and independence. In the main home, the kitchen and vaulted great room take center stage. A wall of windows brings light into the sitting nook (a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee), which opens to the fireplace-warmed outdoor living area.
