Benjamin Moore named First Light, a soft, rosy hue, as its 2020 Color of the Year.
“We selected First Light as our Color of the Year 2020 to represent a new dawn of idealism, design and living,” Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore director of color marketing and development, said in a company news release. "First Light reflects a new definition of the home—a shift in mindset from the material to satisfying the core needs in life: community, comfort, security, self-expression, authenticity and ultimately, optimism.”
In addition to naming its color of the year, Benjamin Moore introduced 10 hues as part of its Color Trends 2020 to guide designers into the next decade and beyond. The palette includes the color of the year, First Light, and also features White Heron, Crystalline, Windmill Wings, Buxton Blue, Golden Straw, Thunder, Cushing Green, Oxford Gray, and Blue Danube.
“The Color Trends 2020 palette plays an integral role in supporting these core human ideals,” said Magno. “Color is powerful but highly subjective, especially through the lens of different generations, relationships and moods.”
