Johnson Controls Unitary Products and Source 1, the factory-authorized service parts and residential accessories provider for Johnson Controls’ YORK residential and light commercial HVAC systems, have opened the first in a series of HVAC training centers nationwide at the Source 1 HVAC Supply Center in Earth City, Missouri.

The 1,200 square foot training center, which held its grand opening on January 25th, 2018 with over 150 customers and industry professionals, will be the first in a series of training centers nationwide. The center will house eight different YORK HVAC units, which will be used in a variety of training classes held on-site.

“Contractors come to us every day to purchase parts, supplies and equipment,” says Doug Comerio, regional general manager for Source 1. “We want to support them after the sale, so the better trained they are in the application, installation, maintenance and service of our equipment, the less likely they are to encounter problems in the field.”

HVAC technicians can learn to become YORK certified technicians at the training centers, and trade students can take advantage of education and training opportunities. The training center will focus primarily on residential services and installation, though select commercial product training is also available. Classes will also be open to YORK sales teams, so that they can gain a deeper understanding of YORK’s products.

“We also want to play a role in shaping the future of our industry,” says Comerio. “This training center will serve as a pipeline for tomorrow’s HVAC technicians, strengthening our company’s commitment to educating and investing in the future of the HVAC industry.” YORK.com
