Tallahassee, Fla.-based Florida Certified Master Builder (FCMB) has selected Gregg Carlson, CEO of Lee Wetherington Homes in Sarasota, Fla., to be the newest Florida Certified Master Builder.

The organization describes Florida Certified Master Builders as “elite home builders, remodelers and commercial contractors who are dedicated to excellence in building and client satisfaction.” In order to become a Florida Certified Master Builder, builders must meet strict licensing requirements and demonstrate in their professional lives a record of “building expertise, business stability, integrity and exceptional customer service.”

Among the many requirements and qualifications for certification, FCMB candidates must have at least seven years of work experience in construction; hold a contractors’ license for at least five years; be a member in good standing of a professional builders’ association for at least three years; and be approved by the Florida Master Builder Certification Board.

Lee Wetherington Homes has built over 4,000 homes across Sarasota and Manatee counties since its founding over 40 years ago. It has been named “America’s Best Builder” by Builder magazine, received more than 300 Parade of Homes awards, and repeatedly selected as a “Reader’s Choice” by readers of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Gregg Carlson became CEO of Lee Wetherington Homes in 2017, when founder Lee Wetherington stepped back from day-to-day activities.
