Several builders, remodelers, and other industry professionals have been named by the NAHB as winners of the annual NAHBGreen Awards, which recognizes excellence in residential green design and construction practices and green building advocacy. The winners were honored at a dinner during the International Builders' Show earlier this month in Las Vegas. Click on the slide show above for photos and descriptions of the winning homes.
Single-family home projects were honored in four categories: --Project of the Year: Single-family - Production: Alessandria - Reserve at Old Fredericksburg, Boerne, Texas, Imagine Homes, San Antonio, Texas
--Project of the Year: Single-family - Small Volume: Imery Group's ProudGreenHome, Chattahoochee, Hills, Ga., Imery Group, Athens, Ga.
--Project of the Year: Single-family Custom: The Performance House, Old Greenwich, Conn., Preferred Builders, Inc., Riverside, Conn.
--Project of the Year: Single-family - Affordable: Affordable Coastal Cottage, Bay St. Louis, Mo., Habitat for Humanity Bay Waveland Area, Inc. Bay St. Louis, Mo.
Green Site Development projects were honored in two categories: --Project of the Year: Green Site Development - Single-family Detached: Rivera Greens, Buffalo, N.Y., Natale Building Corp., Clarence, N.Y.
--Project of the Year: Green Site Development - Multifamily/Mixed Use: Emory Point Phase 1, Atlanta, Ga. Gables, Residential, Atlanta, Ga.
One remodeling project and multifamily projects in two categories were also honored: --Project of the Year: Remodel- Preserving Our Environmental Heritage in Heritage Hills, Paradise Found Construction, Cary, N.C., Balfour Beatty Communities and Balfour Beatty Construction, Newtown Square, Pa.
--Project of the Year: Multifamily, Low-Rise - Four Stories or Less: Fort Bliss Family Housing Emerald Homes, Fort Bliss, Texas, Balfour Beatty Communities and Balfour Beatty Construction, Newtown Square, Penn.
--Project of the Year: Multifamily, High Rise - Five Stories or More: Arbor House, Bronx, N.Y., Blue Sea Development Company, LLC, N.Y.
Finally, three awards were given to individuals or organizations for their outstanding efforts in green building advocacy: --Advocate of the Year: Builder: Martha Rose, Martha Rose Construction, Inc., Seattle, Wash.
--Advocate of the Year: Group: Build San Antonio Green, San Antonio, Texas
--Advocate of the Year: Individual: Brian Baker, Baker Development Group, LLC, Orefield, Pa.
